Claim Description

Whilst cooking, an insured cleaner accidentally spilt oil which landed on their leg and thigh resulting in a second-degree burn. They were admitted to hospital for three days and required changes of the dressing, antibiotics, and occupational therapy. All told, they were unable to work for a total of seven weeks.

After reviewing the supporting evidence—which included photos, business tax returns, profit and loss statements, and doctor’s reports—the insurer accepted the claim.

Outcome

A one-off payment of $3,414.67 was made to the insured.
